I´m interested in exploring anthropromorphism so there are a few creepy cherub faces within the flowers. A contrast exists between straight lines and curves, modern and old, and the grey skyscrapers in the background are a pointer to the present and the future. The poem written on the left is by JRR Tolkein called Bilbo´s Last Song. Thought it might be interesting to make the wall feel delicate like paper and yet strong at the same time. The idea as a whole is about change and how the present and the past are closer than we like to think.
A few years ago we visited a lovely city called Füssen in the lowers Alps. Beautiful and not as touristy as expected considering the close proximity to Schloss Neuschwanstein. I have always had images of the lakes and the cold blue river in my mind and carried away with me images of thick snow, heavily laden branches of pine, a lone whistler, expansive views and the cold quiet of a midwinter´s day.
